Miriam Bance
I am a fine art painter/illustrator, I have created this blog to share my latest work and the events I am involved in. I am interested in the liminal magical spaces and states between the land and the sea, in mysterious anonymous presences, and within nostalgia and memory.

Christmas Tree!
Here are a couple of pictures of it in the daytime, it looked better at night really with the blue lights on.
Christmas Tree!
Hello everybody or anybody! I haven't written on here for a while sorry if you took an interest and then I didn't write anything. I don't get on with winter in England. Anyway I know Christmas was a long time ago now, but I just wanted to post some pictures of my Christmas tree. I made it from a branch that was chopped off the tree in my parents garden. I turned it round and painted it white then hung all kinds of decorations on it . All the decorations were white or light colours so that it made an icy effect. i also used glass worn down from the sea; those glass pebbles which you use for flower arranging ( I hung them with some string on the back); and even some old jewelry . then I put blue lights all around it, and it looked very icy. it was more a christmas ornament than a tree, but it was cheaper and more creative than just buying a Christmas tree. I also did a backdrop for it that featured a Japanese volcano with snow at the top reflecting pink from the pink shiny sun.

Butterfly Woman
This is some new work that I am doing. It's just fun stuff. It's mixed media acrylic and sparkly metalic wrapping paper on board.
